1914 Triumph Type C Roadster

One of the oldest British motorcycling brands, Triumph Engineering started as a manufacturing firm that produced its very first motorcycle all the way back in 1902.

Since the brand’s inception, its products were regarded as giving consumers great performance and superb handling – all bundled up in classic good looks, to boot.

The 1914 Triumph Type C Roadster features an enlarged 550cc engine, a three-speed hub, and front forks sprung to move backwards and forwards unique to Triumph. It also features a modified frame that differs from earlier versions in that is has a curved top tube at the rear of the fuel tank.

This particular bike was once part of the Phil Aubert Bedard collection and was acquired via auction in October 2011. It’s believed to have once belonged to the Bank of New Zealand and was used to deliver the payroll to the Taringamotu sawmill from the bank in Taumaranui.
