BMW Motorcycles

One of the biggest names in automotive manufacturing to come out of Germany, BMW's roots can be found in the manufacture of aircraft engines (hence its propeller-inspired insignia). But as well as with cars, BMW has found plenty of success with two wheels.

BMW motorcycles were first produced back in 1923: with the first BMW motorbike the R32, which featured a flat-twin boxer engine. The production of BMW motorcycles is a long and storied one: and in 2011, the Berlin-based company ticked off a massive milestone, producing its two millionth motorcycle.
