Don't miss The Evolution of Japanese Motorcycles

20th January 2021

Our collection is heaven on earth for motorcycling fans, and this Burt Munro Challenge it’s bigger, better and gruntier than ever.

Not only will Burt Munro Challenge fans discover the usual crowd favourites – with tributes to the man himself, Burt Munro, as well as Kiwi legends like John Britten and Ivan Mauger, plus bikes including Brough Superior, Harley-Davidson, Indian and more among the display.

This year, the Burt Munro Challenge is every punter’s last chance to check out an incredible display of neo-classic Japanese motorcycles in a limited-time-only exhibit. The Evolution of Japanese Motorcycles celebrates the bikes that took the world by storm. With a staggering display of Japanese motorcycles from the mid-20th century to today, this exhibit showcases the machines that set a new standard in technology, innovation and speed. From big boys like Honda and Yamaha through to cult favourites like Hodaka, you won’t want to miss this stellar lineup.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone: with bikes generously on loan to Classic Motorcycle Mecca, as well as a few from our own burgeoning collection of classic Japanese motorcycles, this display is set to close on 28 February.

Entry to the Evolution of Japanese Motorcycles exhibit is included in general admission to Classic Motorcycle Mecca.
