Steampunk Showcase exhibit open now

9th November 2021

Blending science fiction and futuristic technology with Industrial Era-inspired vibes, our pop-up Steampunk Showcase exhibit is a celebration of imagination.

We’ve joined forces with the Southern Society of Steampunk Steamologists to bring guests a taste of the wonderful world of steampunk: from steamsonas, teapot racers, art created by Brenda Nyhof, and even a steam-powered Roper bicycle.

Transport World executive director Joc O’Donnell says the exhibit adds something a little bit different to the Classic Motorcycle Mecca experience.

“Our classic motorbike collection is all about transporting visitors to the past, and our steampunk exhibit does the same – it’s just a slightly different version of history,” she says. “I’m really happy with how the display’s turned out. It’s a real celebration of a very creative perspective.”

Angela Gibbs, from the Southern Society of Steampunk Steamologists, says members were thrilled at what they saw when the exhibit officially opened.

“Our members and friends who went through on opening day loved it. It was beyond what they had expected,” she says.

The Steampunk Showcase exhibit will be on display at Classic Motorcycle Mecca until April 22, 2022.
