Life-saving equipment available for inner-city Invercargill
When we found out there weren’t any publicly-accessible defibrillators available in our neighbourhood after-hours, we decided we needed to do something about it.
A defibrillator has just this week been installed on the exterior of Classic Motorcycle Mecca, on Tay St in inner-city Invercargill.
Transport World tourism operations manager Courtney Russell says this equipment could quite literally save lives.
“While we hope we never have to use this equipment, we know that chances are, somebody will,” she says. “Not only is the safety and wellbeing of our guests incredibly important to us, but we’re really proud to be able to provide this equipment to the entire neighbourhood.
“We know how crucial this kind of equipment really is. When we found out there was no similar equipment available after-hours in the immediate vicinity, we thought it would be great to install something that anybody could use in the event of an emergency.”
